Dental veneers

Dental veneers for a variety of cosmetic needs!

Crooked, chipped, dull or uneven teeth, gaps that are too wide, a misaligned smile: these are common dental flaws. Fortunately, you don’t have to put up with situations that affect your self-confidence. There is a simple solution that improves several aesthetic aspects at once: dental veneers.

Your dentists at Clinique dentaire Saint-Étienne offer chairside veneers and porcelain veneers to meet everyone’s needs!

Why choose dental veneers?

Veneers are thin shells of composite or porcelain placed on the visible surfaces of teeth to hide their flaws and even out their appearance. Their great advantage is that they treat several aspects at once:

  • The look of individual teeth: twisting, cracks and structural yellowing or discolouration that affect certain teeth. Veneers can hide these imperfections and even out the look, length and shape of the teeth;
  • Uneven or overly wide spaces between teeth;
  • The overall alignment of the teeth: by evening out the look of each tooth and the width of the spaces between them, the alignment of the smile becomes much more regular.

The two types of veneers we offer

  • Composite veneers: also called chairside veneers, they are shaped directly on the teeth, which do not need to be prepared. They are placed in a single visit. More affordable, they are however prone to staining and discolouration, which makes them less durable;
  • Porcelain veneers: they are custom-made from impressions of teeth from which a thin layer of enamel has been removed, then fabricated with CEREC technology. This option costs more, but the veneers resist wear better and give a more natural, radiant result.

Dental veneers: a few more things to know

  • It all starts with an assessment. If you are considering this solution to improve the look of your teeth, book an appointment with one of our dentists. We will first do a thorough exam to make sure the treatment is feasible and suggest the best option for you (composite or porcelain veneers).
  • Veneers: only on healthy teeth. Only clean, healthy teeth can be treated. If a disease or condition is found during the initial exam, we will suggest treating it first. A cleaning is also always done before the veneers are placed.
  • A natural, durable solution! Although they tend to dull over time, especially composite ones, veneers still last for many years. They do need good care and attention. That way, your smile will sparkle for a long time!
